Rebirth in Toronto samsara

Tibetan Class - Monday, May 12 10am to noon by donation
The purification practice of Vajrasattva is perhaps the most difficult part of Foundation practice, as it raises and purifies our primary blockades. It does so in an almost invisible way, so we may mistake what is going on. Jetsun-ma will orient this special class to helping us decipher how to work with this wondrous practice. Because if we persevere, the practice becomes lucidly beautiful and a source of strong linkage to Vajradhara, the original face of the Enlightenment principle.
Friends of the Heart, 2510 Yonge Street, Toronto

Special guest teacher - Ayya Medhanandi, a Canadian born nun in the Theravada tradition of Buddhism. Tuesday, May 13 7 to 9pm. By donation.

Ayya Medhanandi was ordained with Sayadaw U Pandita. She joined the Amaravati Nuns’ Community and spent ten years under the tutelage of Ajahn Sumedho. In 1999, she went to New Zealand as a part of the wider Sangha of Bodhinyanarama Monastery where she lived in a small hermitage on the Kapiti Coast. She spent last year travelling and teaching in both India and North America.

Emptiness to Form Part 2 - Wednesday, May 14 - 7 to 9pm at Friends of the Heart. By donation
From emptiness we come; to emptiness we return. This is the mystery of life. The Buddhist teaching offers unique ways to learn to move with the stream of arising and passing, coming and going. The class will be part lecture, part easy movement exercises, and part meditation. It will form an introduction to a series of classes to be taught by David Liang at Friends of the Heart. You may attend Part 2 without having attended Part 1, which will have been held at the Snow Lion.
