A peer-led group. Primarily Tibetan Buddhism based and, current, strongly influenced by Ken Mcleod, who was primarily trained by Kalu Rinpoche. We intend to invite teachers from various Buddhist traditions to lead our retreats.
Activities: Monday night 7 - 9 PM. In the first hour, we meditate, chant and do movement practices that increase our capacity in attention. In the second hour, we discuss the challenges and joys of practice, and explore the integration of practice and a daily life of awareness and compassionate activity. We ask attendees to contribute $3 - $5 toward the cost of room rental.
The Novayana Society is part of a larger worldwide group of Western Buddhists whose root teacher is the Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche. The teaching of this tradition is eclectic, with a foundation in Tibetan and Theravadan Buddhist practices, but with many modern interpretations and developments.
There is weekly Puja on Sundays at 10 AM; Puja meditation sessions on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM.
